Frequently Asked Questions

What is Twocents?

Twocents is a marketplace for interior designers and design enthusiasts to buy and sell décor, art, furniture, appliances, and other design items. Think of it as a Poshmark-style app, but tailored specifically for the world of interior design.

How does the buying and selling process work?
  • The buyer and seller agree on a price for the item.
  • The buyer makes a purchase in the Twocents app.
  • Funds are held securely in Twocents’ Stripe account until the order is completed.
  • Once the buyer receives the item (via in-person pickup or shipping arranged between buyer and seller), they must “accept” or “deny” the order.
  • If accepted, the funds are released to the seller.
  • If denied, the buyer must return the item to the seller, and once the seller confirms receipt, the funds are released back to the buyer.
What are the fees for using Twocents?

Twocents charges a 4% transaction fee on each sale.
Additionally, Stripe processing adds a 2% fee.
Example: If you sell an item for $100, Twocents will collect $4, Stripe will collect $2, and you’ll receive $94.

Does Twocents provide shipping support?

No. Shipping is completely at the discretion of the buyer and seller. Buyers and sellers can decide whether the item will be shipped, picked up locally, or delivered by another method. All shipping costs and logistics are handled between the two parties.

How do refunds and returns work?

If a buyer denies the order after shipping, they are responsible for returning the item to the seller. Once the seller confirms receipt, the funds are returned to the buyer. Twocents does not cover or facilitate shipping costs for returns

What is the “Editor’s Picks” section?

The “Editor’s Picks” section features items curated by Twocents that fit our design aesthetic. To qualify, listings must:

  • Include high-quality photos
  • Match the Twocents aesthetic
  • Come from a seller with a net positive rating on their profile
Where is Twocents available?

Currently, Twocents is only available to users in North America, and the app is available only in English.

What devices support Twocents?

At this time, Twocents is only available on Apple/iOS devices. Android support will be added in the future.

When do sellers get paid?

Sellers receive their payout once the buyer marks the order as “accepted” in the app. Funds are transferred through Stripe, so timing may vary slightly depending on bank processing.

How are disputes handled?

Twocents facilitates the transaction but does not handle disputes over item quality or shipping. Buyers and sellers are encouraged to communicate directly and resolve issues. If necessary, Stripe’s dispute process may apply.

How do ratings and reviews work?

After each completed transaction, buyers and sellers can rate and review each other. Maintaining a positive seller profile increases trust and helps qualify listings for the “Editor’s Picks” section.

Is there a listing fee?

No. It’s free to list items on Twocents. You only pay fees when an item sells.

Can I delete my account / data?

Yes. Navigate to your profile in the app -> select Delete Account -> Confirm and your account will be deleted. Note: we are unable to recover an account once it has been deleted.
